Use this itinerary as a framework rather than a timetable. Choose a beach neighborhood for the first day, give the harbor its own time and keep the third day for a cultural outing, an event or a separately planned island trip. Move the outdoor plans to suit the weather.
Day one: settle into the neighborhood
Start with breakfast and a walk near your accommodation. Learn the route to the beach, choose an easy lunch and leave the afternoon open. For dinner, reserve a place you care about or cook at your stay. After a travel day, a familiar route and an unhurried meal can feel more like vacation than another drive.
Day two: a harbor afternoon
Choose one water activity or the maritime museum as the anchor. Add time to watch the boats and find a meal nearby. On Sunday, see whether the farmers’ market fits the morning. If music is part of the plan, confirm the actual performance and arrange dinner around it. Give the whole outing a comfortable amount of time.
Day three: follow your interests
For history, check Heritage Square’s current tours. For an indoor family activity or shopping, choose an operator at The Collection. If you have booked an island trip, give it the whole day and follow the operator’s departure instructions. In December, a boat parade can become the evening’s main event; our winter edition distinguishes both harbors and dates.
Adapt it to the group
With a dog, build the beach walks around confirmed permitted hours. With children, keep one main activity each day and room for a break. For a longer stay, repeat the mornings you enjoy instead of adding something new every day. Before leaving, check current venue information and the exact amenities and departure requirements for your accommodation.
